During art class this year, we were inspired by Andy Goldsworthy to make our own
Earth Art. Andy Goldsworthy makes sculptures and designs and he really likes to work with
nature. For materials, Andy uses any part of nature (flowers, icicles, mud ect.). He also uses his bare hands and found tools to make the art. He's had many famous sculptures, like "Sheepfolds" and "Carin". For my artwork, i chose to work with a lot of leaves and flowers to make my art colorful and unique. I made a body outline with dandylions, and I also did designs on logs with leaves and sticks. I would use leaves to stick onto the wood to stay, and use dandylions to make an outline of something, which turned out fairly well. I did most of my art either in the woods, outside in a field, or somewhere where it was quiet and outside. Making my art was tricky. Sometimes I would not no what to make and run out of ideas. Also my work sometimes did not come out the way I wanted or it would fall apart in the process, but those were some problems that I was able to solve. My art project did come out the way I expected. I worked on it my hardest and it came out the way I expected. Some of my projects didn't come out the way I expected most of the time because it would fall apart. During this art project, I learned that while making art, you have to be very pateint in order to have your art turn out the way you want. Also you have to work your hardest and take a lot of time to make your art the way you want. Also, I learned that no matter how small, big, ugly, or pretty anything is, you can always turn it into art. What i would do differently next time is to probably plan out what I'm going to make first instead of just showing up and making things randomly. I found that for my last project that if you plan out what you want to do first and create and image of it in your head, then you know exactly what to do and what materials to use so that it will take less time and you can actually make more projects. Also, from what I've experienced, I think I would be more patient with my work instead of rushing through it to get it done.
